Rivetra Electronic Records and Signature Consent
Policy version: 2026-07-12
Effective date: July 12, 2026
This disclosure applies when a person reviews, accepts, or signs an estimate, contract, change order, authorization, invoice, or related project record through Rivetra.
1. Agreement to Conduct the Transaction Electronically
By affirmatively checking the electronic-records consent box and continuing, you agree to use electronic records and electronic signatures for the specific document or related transaction presented in that signing flow. Your typed, drawn, selected, or otherwise authenticated signature is intended to have the same effect as a handwritten signature to the extent permitted by law.
Consent is not effective merely because you viewed a page. Rivetra requires an affirmative consent action before accepting a signature.
2. Scope
Your consent covers the document, incorporated attachments, required notices, signature record, completion certificate, and delivery copy identified in the signing flow. It does not automatically apply to unrelated projects or future transactions unless a later disclosure clearly says so and you consent.
3. Right to Paper Records and Non-Electronic Signing
You may request a paper copy or ask to complete the transaction without an electronic signature by contacting the contractor shown on the document. You may also contact support@rivetra.app for technical assistance.
The contractor, not Rivetra, determines how an alternative signing process is provided and whether a transaction can proceed without delay. No fee will be charged merely for withdrawing electronic consent where prohibited by law. Reasonable copy or delivery costs may apply only when disclosed and lawful.
4. Withdrawal of Consent
You may withdraw consent for future electronic records in the transaction by notifying the contractor. Withdrawal does not affect the validity of records or signatures completed before the withdrawal became effective. It may require the remaining transaction to proceed on paper.
5. Hardware and Software Requirements
To access and retain Rivetra electronic records, you need:
- an internet-connected phone, tablet, or computer;
- a current browser with JavaScript, cookies, and secure HTTPS enabled;
- an active email address or another delivery method provided by the contractor;
- sufficient storage or printing capability to retain a copy; and
- software capable of opening PDF files.
Completing the consent and viewing the document electronically reasonably demonstrates access to the form used for this transaction. If requirements materially change and create a risk that you cannot access later records covered by this consent, an updated disclosure and renewed consent will be provided when required.
6. Keeping Copies and Updating Contact Information
Use the download or delivery function to retain the completed document and notices. Keep your email and other delivery information current with the contractor. You may request another copy from the contractor, subject to lawful retention and verification requirements.
7. Signature Evidence
Rivetra may create a signature envelope and record:
- the exact document version and cryptographic hash;
- signer and contractor names and email addresses;
- consent and notice acknowledgments;
- policy and form versions;
- UTC timestamps, IP address, browser, device, and app information;
- sent, viewed, signed, countersigned, completed, and delivered events;
- integrity, revocation, expiration, and delivery status; and
- a final PDF and append-only, tamper-evident audit history.
These records are used to attribute the signature, demonstrate intent and consent, detect later changes, and preserve the completed transaction.
8. Document Integrity and Completion
The document presented for signature is frozen and hashed when the signature process requires it. If the scope, price, notices, or material terms change, the contractor must issue a revised document or new envelope rather than silently alter the signed version. A completed copy is delivered or made available after all required signatures are complete.
9. Platform Role and Underlying Transaction
The contractor is the sender, business record owner, and party responsible for the underlying estimate, contract, statutory notice, payment request, and project. Rivetra supplies electronic-record, signature-capture, delivery, storage, and audit technology as a technical service provider and data processor. Rivetra is not the contractor, property owner, witness, notary, attorney, escrow holder, title insurer, code official, or guarantor.
Rivetra's technical record does not determine whether the underlying agreement is substantively valid, whether a signer had authority or capacity, whether a statutory notice was delivered at the correct time or by a legally sufficient method, or how a construction, title, lien, payment, workmanship, or property dispute should be resolved. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rivetra is not liable for those underlying matters or for a contractor's failure to select the correct document, recipient, form, notice, delivery method, or deadline.
10. Oregon Residential Construction Notices
For qualifying Oregon residential construction over $2,000, the signing flow may require separate acknowledgment of receipt of:
- Information Notice to Owner About Construction Liens;
- Consumer Protection Notice; and
- Notice of Procedure.
The contractor is responsible for using the current official forms, delivering them at the legally required time and by an authorized method, obtaining legally sufficient proof of receipt, including any required initials or signatures, and retaining that proof. A Rivetra checkbox supports the record but does not excuse any separate delivery, contract, timing, or retention requirement.
11. Exclusions and Additional Formalities
Some documents or transactions may require notarization, witnesses, paper delivery, certified mail, a government filing format, or another formality that Rivetra does not provide. Rivetra is not a notary, attorney, title company, escrow agent, or government filing service.
12. Contact
Questions about project terms or paper delivery should be directed to the contractor identified on the document.
